Toni, A Convening. October 12, 2019. Gavin Brown’s Enterprise. New York, NY

A number of Yardies gathered to pay respect to the late sage and author Toni Morrison. We celebrated with a reading circle focused centered around her final gift, The Source of Self-Regard at Gavin Brown’s Enterprise in Harlem, NY. 

Our multi-everything  group was led by artists Nadia Estela and Derek Fordjour, gallerist Kyla McMilian, and writer Fayemi Shakur. We shared laughter and tears, carrot cake and music,  along with hopes and fears in a safe and connected space designed to inspire truth, freedom, and possibility.
